Sharing your photos with family and friends and collecting the photos of others in which you are interested is a good way of staying in touch with the world around you. Cluster is a great photo sharing app which makes it easy to share photos with others. Cluster was released for iOS devices in February, 2013 and was recently made available for Android.

What Can the App Do?

Users of the app need to register themselves first and create an account with their Email or Facebook IDs. Users can then create albums (Clusters) by selecting the photos from their devices. Albums which are created can either be made available to others publicly or kept private and shared only with selected persons. Private albums can be shared with others by sending them invitation codes through Email or SMS. Other than just viewing the images, invitees to albums can also add their own images to the shared albums. Cluster is also designed to be clever. Once the people who are related to a particular album are selected, Cluster automatically detects which of the pictures in their albums are likely to be linked with it basing on the album’s metadata. These pictures of others too will be added to the album once they give their consent for it. What Cluster achieves with this is the creation of photo sharing groups by the creation of on-the-fly photo albums. Photos from the shared albums of others can be saved to the phone by simply tapping on the ‘Save Photo’ option from the three dot menu found at the top right of the app.

The app has a very simple and easy to understand interface. Photos in the albums can be sorted basing on the upload time, photographer, time taken and favorite images. Settings of the app allow the users to modify the albums titles, make an album private/public, change invitation codes for albums, and group photos taken at a specific location. Cluster app is completely free and offers unlimited storage to its users.

With the market for photo sharing apps dominated by biggies like Facebook and Instagram, Cluster aims to differentiate itself by focusing on group photo sharing. This strategy is similar to the one followed by other late entrants into the market like Snapchat which makes it possible for users to share photos that are self-destructive. Give the Cluster app a try to see for yourself as to how easy it makes to share and collect photos.
