Phablets fall somewhere in the middle of Smartphones and Tablets and can deliver the functionalities of both the devices. A phablet generally has screen sizes ranging between 5 to 7 inches. Phablets are very well optimized for internet access, reading, and multimedia consumption on the move. If you are the kind of person like me who don’t like carrying multiple devices (smartphones, iPods and tablets) for performing essentially the same kind of functions, then  phablets are a good option to consider. There are lot of phablets available  in the Indian market now. Below are some of the best phablets available in India selected by me:

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Price in India Rs. 36,645)

The successor to the Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note 2 has a bigger 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display and runs on the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Note 2 is powered by a superfast 1.6 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM which makes the device to work very fast. It has two cameras (8 MP rear and a 1.9 MP front) for capturing pictures and video chatting. The S-Pen stylus adds lot of additional functionality to the gadget and works with lot of apps. Note 2 has a 3100 mAh battery which supports its huge display with ease.

Samsung Galaxy Grand (Price in India Rs. 20,900)

Introduced as an affordable alternative to the Galaxy Note series, the Samsung Galaxy Grand is a big hit in the Indian market. The Galaxy Grand has a 5 inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. The gadget is powered by a 1.2 GhZ dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The 8 mp rear camera takes good quality pictures and can record videos in full HD quality. Its internal memory of 8 GB can be expanded by another 64 GB through a microSD card. Though it doesn’t compare anywhere with its expensive cousin, the Note 2 the Galaxy Grand is a good budget alternative for those who couldn’t afford the former.

LG Optimus Vu (Price in India Rs. 26,990)

LG Optimus Vu is unique phablet with a squarish display. The 5 inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio makes it ideal for reading and watching videos. Optimus Vu is powered by a 1.5 GhZ quad-core processor and a full GB of RAM which delivers high speed performance. 32 GB of internal storage gives enough room for storing all the multimedia content. A 2080 mAh battery drains out a bit faster. Optimus Vu isa good phablet who wants to read books and magazines and enjoy watching videos on the go without any hassle.

Micromax A110 Canvas 2 (Price in India Rs. 10,999)

Micromax  A110 Canvas 2 is a revamped avatar of the Micromax Canvas. Canvas 2 has a 5 inch display with a decent resolution. It has a 1 GhZ dual core processor and runs onthe latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The 8 MP rear camera with auto-focus and dual LED flash can take good quality pictures. It has a 2000 mAh Lithium Ion battery which gives a backup of 180 hours. Even though its features compare nowhere with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and LG Optimus Vu, the Canvas 2 is a good option for people who are looking for a phablet in the Rs. 10,000 range.

Intex Aqua Style (Price in India Rs. 9,699)

The Intex Aqua is a dual SIM (GSM + GSM) tablet sporting a 5.9 inch touchscreen. This affordable phablet runs on a 1 GHz Dual Core processor and has a rather disappointing 512 MB RAM. The 8 MP rear camera gives good quality pictures. The device also has a 1.3 MP front camera for video chatting. The device’s 2500mAh battery gives a good backup of up to 100 hours.
